Morning Brunch

So (why do people begin a piece of writing with 'so' ????) friends of ours came over this morning for brunch. It was great - I really enjoy preparing food (as many of you know), and what better time to eat it that than starting in the morning [and continuing through the day - that's what leftovers are for, right?].

The menu this morning was:
  • chocolate muesli
  • assorted yoghurts (papaya, pistachio, peach melba, pear&chocolate, chocolate)
  • omelette containing fried onions and diced veggie sausages
  • white bread (plain or toasted)
  • rye bread
  • smoked salmon
  • assorted cheeses (cottage cheese with chives, garlic and herb cheese spread, and yellow cheeses: gouda, some italian hard cheese, and a swiss hard cheese)
  • apricot jam
  • apple juice
  • orange juice
  • multivit juice
  • tea (earl grey, rooibos, vanilla, ceylon)
  • coffee (just decaf, I'm afraid ... we don't drink the stuff ourselves)
  • fruit salad (apple, pear, orange, strawberry, seedless grapes, papaya, kiwi, banana)
  • chocolate-lined kelloggs wafer tubes

This afternoon, I updated some scripts for our new landingpage (I work at http://www.monzoon.net/) and popped down to McDonald's to test them (no I didn't eat anything there, yes the scripts all worked as expected). Other friends (also with a young kid - 8 months older than Aron) came over this afternoon to collect speakers I'd stored in our cellar for them while they moved apartments. We were planning a walk, but it started raining while they were here, so we stayed indoors and let the kids play while we chatted.

Just finished making a stew for Aron [and us :) ], of course using the pressure cooker once again - beef, potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, onions, and peas, with a hint of basil, rosemary, garlic and ginger, oregano, and 2 bay leaves.
